|Carla Slusher lives on a ranch in southeastern New Mexico where she paints to country-and-western music. "From the moment I heard about 'The Trail of Painted Ponies,' ideas for designs began to flow. At my studio on the ranch, I envisioned a horse wearing a cowboy hat, painted on jeans, and color-coordinated boots. A dancing horse ready for a night on the town. The bandana was added at the last moment for balance and color. Upon completion, I stepped back to take a look. At that moment, it so happened my favorite country station played a song by Brooks and Dunn. So I cranked up the volume, and Boot Scooter and I danced to 'The Boot Scootin' Boogie.'" This is how she came up with the name for her Pony, which has attitude with a capital A!
