| The driving concept behind this horse was to take essentially worthless china and cups purchased at thrift shops, garage sales and flea markets and use them to create an art object of beauty and value. A kind of recycling project. Making people question their notion of trash and treasure. What we perceive as valuable and beautiful is often a question of context and timing. As I was working, I also became aware of the idea of reconstruction, of putting together what was broken.
